NOVATO, Calif., Feb. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sonic Solutions? (Nasdaq: SNIC - News), the leader in digital media software, today announced its Roxio-branded consumer applications were number one in U.S. retail in 2007. According to NPD Group figures, which track retail sell-through in North America, Roxio applications increased their market share over the previous year and lead the category in terms of units and revenue with 32% and 42% respectively*. Sonic''s retail leadership was fueled by strong performances for the company''s flagship Roxio-branded digital media applications Toast and Easy Media Creator. On the Windows platform, Easy Media Creator led its category and more than doubled the revenue share of its next closest competitor. Similarly on the Mac platform, Toast dominated, increasing unit sales year-over-year by 49% and securing over 90% share of category revenue.

"We are extremely pleased that we were able to retain our leadership position in a highly competitive environment and, in the process, secure 5 of the 10 spots in the list of best-selling products in the category," said Chris Loeper, vice president of Worldwide Consumer Sales, Roxio division of Sonic Solutions. "A strong partnership with today''s largest retailers has been the key to our growth and helped us to extend our lead over the competition in 2007."

Sonic''s distribution network spans over 12,000 store fronts throughout North America and includes key placement in leading retail and e-tail outlets including Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Costco and Apple retail stores.
